How to turn a syllabus into a Notion database

Steps

    A Notion window opens. Sign in, approve access and share at least one page. SyllabusSync puts the course database inside a page you share.

  5. 5. Click Sync to Notion

    SyllabusSync creates a database named after your course and adds one page per item, with study sessions if you added them. Click Open in Notion to see it.

  6. 6. Sync again after changes

    Sync the same course again later and SyllabusSync updates that database instead of creating a new one.

What the Notion database contains

  • Task: The item name, for example "Midterm 1".
  • Due Date: The date from your syllabus.
  • Type: Exam, Assignment, Quiz, Reading, Lecture, Study Block or Other.
  • Details: Notes from the syllabus, such as chapters or instructions.
  • Status: Starts as Not Started. Change it to In Progress or Done as you work.
  • Weight: The share of your grade, when the syllabus gives one.
  • Points: Points possible, when the syllabus gives them.
  • Category: The grading category, such as Exams, Homework or Projects.
